When I received my Associate degree in Chemical Technology in 1961 I was taught
the clotting of human blood was a simple mechanical process of several steps.
The “sticky” platelets just stuck together to stop the flow of blood. Science
since has more clearly understood the process to be a cascade of complex chemical
processes having HUNDREDS of steps. This is complexity way beyond what was expected.
The use of the electron microscope has aided us in seeing the minute complexity
of all living things. Nothing is as simple as it seemed to be before saw down
to the molecular level. Michael Behe at Lehigh University has concluded that
things like the irreducible complexity found in blood clotting cannot arise
by chance and in writing his book (Darwin’s Black Box) has shaken evolution
to it’s very roots. The complexity of DNA should have been enough to convince
anyone that there is a creator, yet men will not believe in a Creator. God told
us why they would not in Romans 1:20-25. “For since the creation of the world
His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that
are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful,
but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible
God into an image made like corruptible man--and birds and four-footed animals
and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the
lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged
the truth of God for the lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather
than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.” To make it simple; men will
not see God because they choose not to. He is self evident in the creation.
When the atheistic communists took over education in the now defunct Soviet
Union they required all school children to swear every day “THERE IS NO GOD”.
If there isn’t a God what’s the point of swearing. They proved God’s existance
by their very unbelief. The Soviet Union is dead Christianity survives. In the
words of the familiar Hymn; ...when I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds
Thy hands have made. I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder. Thy power
throughout the Universe displayed...How Great Thou Art !!
