The theory of evolution is based on the assumption that at some time in the past dead chemicals turned into a living system. This idea, called spontaneous generation, is essential for evolution to account for the life on Earth. Science has proven, by experiment, in the present that this is impossible, yet it must have happened if evolution is true. All modern medical science is based on the principle that life comes from like life. Evolutionists have tried to avoid this question but more and more it has become a serious problem. As we have learned about the complexity of life explaining spontaneous generation has gotten harder and harder. One of the foremost evolutionists in the world, Paul Davies, has just published a book (The Fifth Miracle; The Search for the Origin and Meaning of Life) that is a refreshing break from the evolutionist's that constantly shout “evolution is a fact”. Although Davies still believes in evolution his analysis is thoughtful and frankly honest. It is refreshing to have some decent honesty in the evolution camp. I believe evolution is impossible for many reasons and spontaneous generation remains an insurmountable barrier. Until they can pass this barrier they should stop declaring “evolution is a fact”.
