CCE Charlie’s Opinions

Why should I consider Charlie’s opinions about Classical Christian Education for my Children?

Charlie Liebert’s first three books published in the Christian genre dealt with Christian Apologetics.  The first, “Always Be Ready to Give an Answer!” develops an evangelism strategy that gets to the Gospel every time Christians witness.  The second, ANSWERS For “The Hope That Is in You.” contains answers to more than 100 questions skeptics use to try to stump Christians.  It also includes a short analysis of  Biblical Creation vs. Atheistic Evolution. The third, “Without 3 Miracles Darwin’s DEAD!” shows how “Science Proves Atheistic Evolution is IMPOSSIBLE!  All three are available at http://Amazon.com.

My Children’s Christian Education, What Should I Do?” is a resource to help Christian parents decide how to educate their children considering both their education options and their Biblical responsibility.  My goal here is to help solve the: Christian parent’s dilemma, of how to educate their children in the complex world of the 21st century.

I gave up my life as an evangelistic Atheist and became a Christian at age 35.  As a former Atheist/Humanist I understand their worldview.  Now, for the first time, as a Christian I could see the contradictions and flaws in Humanism as a foundation for education.  Although I spent 33 years in Industry, my most intense interest has always been education. Several years after becoming a Christian I recognized the need to educate my children in the Biblical worldview.

My life time experience in general education and more than 40 years in Christian education establish my credibility as an one qualified to help you make good decisions about your children’s education.  In 1996, I joined the board of Caldwell Academy, A Classical Christian School founded in Greensboro, NC in 1994.  During my time on the board, the school doubled in size, relocated to a new permanent site, and built its first building.  Today Caldwell has five major buildings and enrollment has grown to over 800 in grades K-5 through 12.  Immediately after I retired in 1994, I began a single proprietorship business called Creation, Dinosaurs and thE Flood (CDEF) which hosted educational workshops and seminars for children and adults.  CDEF sold books and videos at both my programs and regional homeschool conventions. In 1990 CDEF established a website that answers Christian Apologetics questions about the Bible and science http://www.sixdaycreation.com.  In 2011 the sales business was liquidated but the website continues today.  Starting in 1997, for two years I worked for Answers in Genesis, Ken Ham’s Biblical Creation ministry leading children’s workshops and adult seminars.  In 1998, I resigned from the Caldwell board to teach Dialectic Science (Middle School) and Bible Survey for one year.  Keeping my interest at Caldwell alive, from 1999 until 2001 I led weekly science assembly programs. Beginning in 1995 until 2005, I produced a one-hour, weekly, public access TV show on Greensboro Community Television (GCTV) using footage shot at my seminars and workshops.  In August 2004 I began teaching business courses at Davidson County Community College (DCCC) in Lexington, North Carolina. Courses included; Principles of Management, Introduction to Business, Business Law, Principles of Marketing, Study Skills, and Student Success Strategies.  At DCCC, I won 2 academic prizes for excellence in teaching, including a grant for $3,000.  I began work as author in 2012.

To summarize in the last 27 years:

1) I’ve helped start and grow a Classical Christian School in Greensboro, NC,

2) Taught science at both the Grammar & Middle (Dialectic) School levels,

3) Led “Origins” seminars and workshops for Answers in Genesis and for my  own ministry CDEF.

4) For ten years, I produced an educational weekly TV show.  From local exposure on that show, I became known as the “Creation Guy” and was often recognized as I traveled in the Greensboro area.

5) Led more than 50 additional programs teaching Christian Apologetics in churches, schools and civic clubs.

6) Counseled Christian parents and their children in Apologetics to counter the results of the students “loss of faith” when they left home and/or went off to college.

7) Taught Business and general education subjects at Davidson County Community College for the last 14 years

In 1987 I published a booklet titled “What Happened to our Schools?” that used the then current study of: “A Nation at Risk” published by the Reagan administration, to analyze the Humanist takeover of US Public Education.  After reviewing this earlier booklet and discussions with Christian parents struggling with how to educate their children, I decided to undertake this writing project to help Christian parents make the best decisions to educate their children.  I pray the LORD bless you as you consider your Biblical responsibility to  educate your children.
